Setting up your Range account

A checklist for setting up Range after you've been invited.

Welcome to Range! We're excited you're here. 🙌 Range is a workplace tool that helps teams stay in sync. If you’ve made it to this page, someone from your organization has probably invited you to join your team on Range. We’ve put together this checklist to help you get started. Let’s dive in!

✓ Sign in

Visit https://range.co/login to sign in to your workspace. You can sign in using a Google account or request a secure sign-in link be sent to your email.

✓ Create a Profile

No one wants to be on a team with a group of anonymous avatars. Now's a great moment to upload your profile photo, and provide your full name and nickname.

💡 Tip: You can add more information to your profile, such as links to your social media account, by visiting your profile page on the left sidebar. Doing this lets the rest of your team learn more about who you are outside of work and helps Range feel more inviting to new team members.

✓ Link Integrations

Instead of trying to remember everything you need to get done, Range can automatically suggest work or agenda items from the other tools you use to add to your daily check-in. By configuring integrations, Range lets you see everything you’re working on all in one place. You can link your integrations by visiting Settings, then Integrations.

✓ Start Using Range

Setting up your account is quite easy, but you might have some more questions about using Range.

  • What should I do first? Start by watching our short demo video, which you can find on the home screen in your Range workspace. You can also watch it here.
  • What is a check-in and how do I write one? Check-ins are broken down into two sections -- “my plan” and “what happened.” Your “plan” is like a to-do list for the next day or so and the “what happened” section lets you list and present the work you’ve already accomplished. To get more detailed information about writing a great update, check out this article.
  • Who can see what you create on Range? Range was designed to foster transparency. Most things you create on Range can be viewed by anyone in your organization's workspace if they’re curious enough to look for it. In practice, though, what you add to Range will mostly just be seen by your own team.
  • How can I join a team? When you sign in to Range for the first time, you’ll see a Welcome Card inviting you to explore Range and join a team.
